The Ukrainian law forbids to serve in two government jobs at the same time

Iryna Venedyktova, the Acting Head of the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine decided to terminate her lawmaker's cadence. The MP from Servant of the People party claimed she already filed the respective appeal. UNN news agency quoted her as saying.

"On December 27, I write an appeal, terminating my MP authorities", the official said.

She added that all legal requirements are observed.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky fired Roman Truba, the Director of Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigations. Venedyktova replaced him as the Acting Head.

Prior to her new appoiintment, Venedyktova served as the Head of Committee of the Legal Policy in the Ukrainian Parliament.
