An agreement on this issue was set byMikheil Saakashvili, chairman of the Odesa regional state administration, and Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) Geoffrey R. Pyatt during their today’s meeting.
“American police officers from California will train new Odessa police. Also, the US government agreed to allocate money for salaries of the new team of Saakashvili as a part of the Odesa anti-corruption pressure", stated Saakashvili on his Facebook page.
By the way, Kyiv police patrol training program was also held by Americans.
All the reforms concerning new patrol planned are to be completed in 1.5 years, said Anton Gerashchenko in his last interview on 112.Ukraine TV.
Ukraine's first police patrol came to his duties in Kyiv. The police officially took the oath on July 4 at the Sofia square in Kyiv and the same evening started its beta version work.
