On December 23, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine scheduled local elections in 78 united territorial communities (UTC) throughout Ukraine. These 78 UTCs consist of 345 local councils: city (9), settlement (19) and village councils (317).
The election to be held in: Volyn region – in 9 UTC, Dnipropetrovsk region – in 1 UTC, Zhytomyr region – in 6 UTC, Ivano-Frankivsk region – in 4 UTC, Kyiv region – in 4 UTC, Kirovohrad region – in 4 UTC, Lviv region – in 5 UTC, Poltava region – in 3 UTC, Rivne region – in 3 UTC, Ternopil region – in 5 UTC, Khmelnytskyi region – in 3 UTC, Cherkasy region – in 27 UTC, Chernivtsi region – in 4 UTC.
According to the National Police, the voting is to take place in Kyiv region. The residents of Baryshivsky, Borodiansky, Vasylkivsky and Myronivsky united territorial communities to elect their local deputies, city and village heads themselves. The total number of polling stations is 62.
‘The public order will be maintained by 130 law enforcers during the elections of the united territorial communities.
Specialized investigative and operational groups will be created in each territorial police department, whose employees will be engaged in responding and considering appeals and applications of citizens related to the violation of the election process.
Reserves will also be provided. Public places and places for public events will be taken under the enhanced protection regime,’ the Kyiv Police reported.
Almost 453,000 voters will be able to vote. The voting at 62 polling stations will last until 8 p.m.
