By the end of this year, 72 political prisoners may return to Ukraine. It was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during the briefing after the Normandy Summit, which was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"Well, it is difficult, but we said we would talk about it and would decide how it should be done. Let’s take the first step. A big step because 72 people can come home," Zelensky said.
“All for all” exchange will take place after both parties approve all the lists.
As we reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met on December 9 in Paris at the Normandy Summit.
The negotiating countries agreed to facilitate the mutual release of detainees by December 31 on the principle of "all for all".
