Until the end of the year, we can expect the delivery of 700 thousand tons of anthracite coal from the United States to Ukraine. This was reported in an interview with ZN.UA, by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Valery Chaly.

According to him, an appropriate contract for the supply of coal was signed between the US company XCoal Energy and Resources and the Ukrainian state-owned Centrenergo Company on July 14 this year.

"According to the terms of the contract, it is possible to expect delivery of 700 thousand tons of anthracite thermal coal from the USA by the end of the year. It was planned that the volume of the first delivery will be 85 thousand tons. But the shippers managed to quickly find a slightly smaller vessel for 62 thousand tons, I was present there along with the American high officials. The vessel with the American coal last week left the port of Baltimore, it will sail about three weeks, therefore, somewhere near the middle of September, we can expect its arrival at the port Pivdennyi", the diplomat noted.

The ambassador stressed that Centrenergo has full information about the supplies of the following parties of anthracite coal to Ukraine. "What we know is that the next batch of coal should be larger, approximately 120,000 tons, and should arrive in Ukraine in early October, and one or two ships will arrive on a monthly basis," he said.
