Nearly 6 million Ukrainian citizens were deprived of their constitutional election right. Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of Political Council of Opposition Platform for life Said that in his Big Interview, which will be broadcasted on 112 Ukraine TV channel on May 4 at 9:20 p.m.
"Specifically, approximately 2.3 – 3 million citizens across the contact line (in Donbas conflict zone, - ed.), on the uncontrolled territories of Ukraine, 1.5 million people who are temporarily displaced persons on the territory of Ukraine who were deprived of the possibility to get the right to vote. And those 2.5 – 3 million people residing on the territory of Russia who were simply barred from getting the right to vote. They were deprived of their constitutional right to deprived of their constitutional election right. And it can’t be silenced. And not speaking of this is also wrong, because Kyiv authorities made everything for those people not to vote, and they did it intentionally. You do understand, how those people would have voted. They would never vote for the authorities and Mr. Poroshenko. It’s like because of this his actions were directed to deprive those citizens of their constitutional right to vote,” Medvedchuk said.
As we reported earlier, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov doubted the legitimacy of Ukraine’s recent presidential elections stating that 3 million Ukrainian citizens residing on the territory of the Russian Federation were not allowed to vote.
“Moscow respects the choice of the Ukrainian people, moreover that this choice is the vivid one. At the same time, the legitimacy of the process was questioned as 3 million Ukrainian citizens were not allowed to vote because they live on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Peskov said.
