5G may be tested in Ukraine by end of year

Swedish manufacturer of telecommunication facility and one of Ukraine's cell operators can test 5G in Ukraine already by the end of the year. They plan to hold the experiment in six cities, Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Lviv. One of Ukraine's IT web portals reported that on Monday.

The National Committee for the regulation of communications and information already defined the safety measures needed to test the fifth-generation Internet in Ukraine to avoid any possible harm to people and animals.

The sides intend to hold probes in December.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that that full coverage of the territory of Ukraine with 3G and 4G communications and access to broadband Internet in all settlements will be in progress until 2023.
