Five criminal cases, about 250 violations happen since election campaign in Ukraine

Three cases are connected with minor violations, another one with the vote-buying process, and the remaining one with the impediment to professional journalism activity

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies opened five criminal cases and recorded more than 250 violations of the election law since the beginning of the election campaign.

The head of the National Police Oleksandr Fatsevych announced this facts during the meeting of the coordination headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on ensuring law and order during the elections, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

More than 250 violations of the election law are registered and five criminal cases are opened from the beginning of the election campaign according to Fatsevych. He clarified that three of the cases are connected with minor violations, another one with the vote-buying process, and the remaining one with the impediment to professional journalism activity.

On January 17, a journalist reported to the Kyiv police about the impediment to professional journalism activity during the training of agitators.

“Our operative units of criminal police are working on this problem, when they detect something, they will give all the information to the investigative units for decision-making. Currently, we are studying the situation, all the necessary preventive measures are undertaken”, - Fatsevych said while answering to the question, whether the so-called election chains exist.
