There are 405 Ukrainian citizens in captivity in Russia and in the territories of Ukraine occupied by it, including 44 military personnel and 30 women. This was announced by the authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada for human rights Lyudmyla Denisova during the solemn meeting of the parliament.

"The armed aggression of Russi, he temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and a significant part of Donbas led to a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and encroached on its independence. 405 citizens of Ukraine, of which 44 are military personnel and 30 women, are in concentration camps and dungeons of the Russian Federation, and in the occupied territories", said Denisova.

According to the Ombudsman, she knows the names of all Ukrainians held by Russia.

At the beginning of the year, a former prisoner of the Kremlin, Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov announced the creation of a platform for the release of political prisoners who are being held in Russia and in the territories of Ukraine occupied by it.
