The Russian authorities plan to send 2,500 citizens of Crimea and Sevastopol for the military service during the spring conscription 2019, as Kryminform reported citing the Information Department of the Black Sea Fleet.

“It is planned to select and send about 2,500 people for military service at the territory of the Crimean peninsula. The places of the admission, deployments, and departure of the military teams of the young recruits were equipped on the basis of the assembly point. Besides, the feeding station will be settled. The young men will get the military uniform and personal bank cards for payments before the departure to the military units,” the message said.

According to the Information Department, the majority of the conscripts will be sent for the service to the regions of neighboring Russia.

“The majority of the youth will serve outside Crimea, at the military units of South and other military districts. A large number of the conscripts will be sent to the detachments in the accordance with the military records specializations, which they received within Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy system: the drivers of the fuel vehicles, car crane and amphibious transport vehicles,” the message said.

The spring draft will last until July 15, 2019.

Earlier we reported that the residents of the annexed Crimea will not be prosecuted for the military service in the Russian Army. 

In 2018, the recruits of annexed Crimea were sent to Russian Strategic Missile Forces for the first time.
