241 Ukrainian citizens are held captive in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass. Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova announced this on Facebook.

“I held a working meeting with the British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons ... she informed that 241 Ukrainian citizens are held captive in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass", Denisova said.

The Ombudsman also asked the ambassador to influence the International Committee of the Red Cross so that they strengthen their position regarding admission to the uncontrolled territories.

Earlier, representatives of the unrecognized "Donetsk People's Republic" said that it was impossible to exchange prisoners between Kyiv and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions by the end of this year.
