The Institute made the list of the memorials and memorial signs dedicated to the history of the Poles in the 20th century in Ukraine. Also, the list of the Ukrainian memorials installed in Poland in honor of the Ukrainian victims of the war and political repressions. 76 objects are put in the list. The pointed information is verified by the heads of the union of the Ukrainians in Poland and researchers of the Ukrainian places of the memory in Poland.
Also, it is noted that the Institute analyzed the acting legislation that became the basis for the creation of the road map for the search, exhumation, accomplishment and installment of the memorial in Ukraine.
As 112.international reported earlier, Ukraine canceled the permission of Polish Institute of National Remembrance to search and exhume Polish, buried in Ukraine, and did not agree to restore them. This worsened relations between two countries. It happened in April, after the monument to Ukrainian Insurgent Army in Hruszowice (Poland) was toppled. Countries discussed the issue a few times, though unsuccessfully – the sides were just trading accusations.
