Yesterday, on March 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held an online meeting with heads of regional state administrations, regional councils and mayors of cities to discuss the issue of training local self-government bodies and executive authorities to counter the spread of the coronavirus. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko during a briefing that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"As a result of this meeting, about 133,9 million dollars have been allocated at the regional level to take measures in counteracting the spread of coronavirus. 26,4 million dollars have already been spent," he said.
The Deputy Minister also specified that the remaining amount would be spent on supply of medical equipment, personal protective equipment and equipment for laboratories in the near future.
"Also, these funds will be allocated for the bonuses to the employees involved in combating the spread of coronavirus disease across our country," Lyashko summed up.
As we reported earlier, as of now, there 669 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine.
