It is no surprise for the Channel, since 112 Ukraine has been living in these conditions three years so far; the State Council and other governmental agencies have been applying pressure on the channel. Their goal is to influence the editorial policy of the TV channel so as to meet the requirements of certain financial and political circles.
The Channel has repeatedly made statements about the pressure by the State Council, at the same time enjoying support of European and Ukrainian politicians, experts, reporters and public figures. We have repeatedly said there were signs of implementing double standards policy by the State Council. There have been a lot of examples like this over the last year; this state authority re-registered licenses of many other news channels, ignoring our well-founded reasons.
In spite of such a decision by the National Council we will go on carrying out our mission – to fairly and promptly inform our viewers on the events in Ukraine and abroad. This is proved by the market research of informational and all-nation TV channels, they all mark high of balance and objectivity of the information provided.
Every day millions of TV viewers vote for us and we will continue working for each of you despite of the pressure from a bunch of officials. We’ll still be the live democratic institution of control over the Ukrainian politicians and public officers who still can’t accept the choice of Ukrainian people to move forward turning Ukraine into a real but not a declarative European democratic state.
