A few days left before the end of 2015 year, which will live in memory as a year of resonant murders and deaths of well known and symbolic figures. From Chechetov to Scryabin - we decided to remember all those whose life paths were cut off in 2015.
Writer and journalist, one of the highly critical of the post-Maidan government; sometimes openly called a pro-Russian figure, author of "Ghoul Taras Shevchenko or Fake KobzarAlpha", "The Secret History of Ukraine-Rus", etc.
Buzyna is also known as a presenter on the UT-1 and "Inter" TV channels, the journalist of the newspaper "2000" and "Segodnya" (of Rinat Akhmetov), a short time used to work as a chief editor (January - March 2015) and resigned because of his limited powers and censorship. In 2012 he ran as a deputy for "Russian bloc" party, but lost the election.
On the 45th year of his life, Buzyna was shot on April 16, near his home on Dehtiarivska street (Kyiv). He received five bullet wounds: three in his body, one in the neck, and one in his head.
The official version of the investigation names the reason of this murder - the professional activity of Buzyna.
Two soldiers, who participated in the hostilities in Donbas, - Denys Polishchuk Andriy Medvedko, are the main suspects of the case. The soldiers claim that on the day in the day of the murder they were in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. One of the widely spread public opinions is that Medvedko and Polishchuk are political prisoners.
Oligarch and politician, one of the most influential people in the Volyn region, died August 12 at the age of 47 in a Swiss clinic in Zurich. After falling from a horse on July 26, Yeremeyev never came out of a coma - he received a traumatic brain injury.
Yeremeyev began his entrepreneurial activity in 1992: he united his university friends and created private enterprise "Continuum" in his native village, which was engaged in tailoring. Later Eremeyev was involved into oil and petroleum trade, which brought him the real money.
Ihor Yeremeyev was a deputy of several convocations for the constituency in Volyn region, and soon in 2014 became the founder of "European sovereign Ukraine" parliamentary group.
According to 2013 ranking of "Korrespondent" magazine, this man owned some 151 mln USD. In 2015 he had 95 mln USD, according to "Focus" magazine (while "Forbes" estimated some 58 mln US).
After his death, the question of holding early elections in his constituency arose, which has not take place until now.
The younger son of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych died on March 20 in Baikal Lake. His minibus "Volkswagen" carried six people and fell through the ice. Everyone of those six were saved, except of Yanukovych, who, according to one version, helped the passengers to get out of the car, and had just no time to save himself.
March 22, 2015 the body of 33-year-old man was sent a charter flight to Crimea, and buried at the Bratsk military memorial cemetery in Sevastopol in the presence of his father Viktor Yanukovych and the family.
Yanukovych was engaged in business and politics - in May 2006, he became a people's deputy from the Party of Regions for the first time, and then in 2007 and 2012. However, as he said himself, he was not a politician at heart.
Yanukovych's passion was motorsport in which he has achieved considerable success, winning several victories, and which ultimately led to his death.
He had a large fleet of vehicles: according to media reports, there were Chevrolet Suburban, Audi A6, Hummer H2-JEEP Wrangler, AUDI A8, AUDI RS6, JEEP Cherokee. After the flight of Viktor Yanukovych, activists of the "Pravyi Sektor" found exclusive fleet of 12 cars in a private warehouse, presumably belonging to Viktor Yanukovych "Junior". The total value of the cars is about 2 mln USD.
The outstanding Soviet and Russian film director, National Artist of the USSR Eldar Ryazanov died November 30 in the hospital at the age of 88 years. Prior to that he was undergoing treatment in October and September. In August, he underwent prophylactic cleaning vessels.
The farewell ceremony was held in the Central House of Writers, and afterwards he was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
His filmography, consisting of more than 30 films for nearly 60 years, include the cult films, such as "Carnival Night", "Beware of the Car", "Old men-robbers", "Unbelievable Adventures of Italians in Russia", "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!", "Office Romance" and others.
Within two months, from February to April three prominent former leaders of the Party of Regions died immediately under different circumstances.
The first was a former MP from the Party of Regions Mykhailo Chechetov. February 28 he had fallen from the 17th floor of his apartment (in Kyiv). 61 year-old politician left a suicide note: "I'm leaving. I think it would be better for all. Thank you so much for all your support. I'm sorry, and do not misunderstand me".
An investigation concerning the organization of voting for the "dictatorial laws," January 16, 2014, was conducted against Chechetov. February 20, 2015 Chechetov was arrested, and on February 23 he was released on bail almost 210 thousand USD, brought by the deputy from the "Opposition bloc" party Vadym Novinsky.
The police, citing the information of relatives, said that after the criminal case Chechetov was deeply depressed.
Less than after two weeks, March 12, 2015, another former MP from the former Party of Regions 60-year-old Olexander Peklushenko, who led the Zaporizhya Regional Administration from 2011 till 2014, was found in the basement of his apartament in Zaporizhya. He had a gunshot wound in his neck.
Beside him lay a shotgun registered in his name. He had not left a suicide note. Media reported that the politician had health problems and suffered from a depression.
In 2014, Peklushenko was prosecuted for the illegal crackdown of Euromaidan in Zaporizhya. He faced up to eight years in prison.
A month later another ex-MP from the former Party of Regions Oleh Kalashnikov was found dead in his apartament in Kyiv. He was found with five gunshot wounds, one of which was in the head.
Presumably, the politician was shot by some two men, when he came out of the elevator and headed for his apartment. Relatives of the victim said that he repeatedly received threats for his political views.
Kalashnikov was an active figure of Antimaydan, Prosecutor General's Office verified the information on his co-organization of "titushky" movement.
One of the most outstanding artists of Ukraine, Andriy Kuzmenko, the leader of "Skryabin" band, TV presenter, writer, actor, and producer, died in a car accident on February 2 at the age of 46 years.
He was on his way to Kyiv after a concert in Kryvyi Rih, Andriy's Toyota Sequoia crashed into a milk tanker on the route "Kirovohrad - Kryvyi Rih - Zaporizhya." Kuzmenko died from his injuries.
May 20 a concert-tribute in memory of "Kuzma" was held; it was attended by famous Ukrainian musicians, who song together with the other members of the band "Skryabin".
Kuzmenko posthumously was awarded the Order "For Merits" for "significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and the enrichment of the national musical art".
On the eve of an opposition march "Spring", February 27, Moscow downtown, Russian opposition activist, co-chairman of the RPR-Parnas, 55-year-old Boris Nemtsov was shot dead.
March 8, Moscow Court arrested five people. Today, all five suspects are charged, the investigation is carried out from time to time, new figures appear in the case. Many people believe the murder of Boris Nemtsov was politically motivated.
According to German media, he helped the U.S. to make a list of politicians and businessmen against whom sanctions should be introduced (after Russia annexed Crimea).
At this point, there are still many gaps in the case, many journalists and public figures have expressed their doubts that the real organizers of the murder would be brought to justice.
Friske had been struggling from a brain tumor for several years. The singer was treated at the clinic of New York (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center), in China, Latvia, and in Moscow.
Once she gave up the wheelchair and began to move on their own, and doctors have noted a positive trend. Later, however, the state of the singer gradually began to deteriorate, and she fell into a coma, which lasted for three months.
September 28 in Kyivv, Ukrainian singer Serhiy, known under the pseudonym Larson, died at the age of 38. September 17 he had got in an accident.
The accident occurred on one of the Kyiv streets. The singer crashed into car Cadillac Escalade, while driwing his Kawasaki motorcycle.
Media reported that the singer was hit by a doctor of one of the capital's hospitals.
May 2, 90-year-old ballet dancer died from a heart attack.
Maya Plisetskaya was born November 20, 1925 in Moscow in a famous family of artists. Her mother was a famous silent film actress, her aunt and uncle were known ballet couple.
The most famous roles of Plisetskaya: Odette - Odile in "Swan Lake", Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty," Mistress of Copper Mountain in the "Stone Flower" by Prokofiev.
Leaving the scene at age 65, she remained in the ballet by taking part in educational activities, she participated in concerts, conducted master classes.
Plisetskaya came into the world of cinema with the film of Vera Stroevaya"Big Concert" (1951). Then the actress starred in the film-ballet "Swan Lake", "The Tale of Humpbacked Horse", "Anna Karenina", "Bolero," "Isadora". In the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel "Anna Karenina" (1968) she played the role of Betsy.
Plisetskaya has many awards from different countries.
