Before the death of my mother, I asked her to forgive me in her last difficult days I could not be with her. She has made her last efforts and replied: "I am proud that I have brought up such a son!"
Whatever I do, no matter how hard I feel now, I do not have evidence whether I will turn back alive. But I am even more affraid than that my actions, thoughts, statements can disgrace me as a man, as a Crimean Tatar. I am afraid that my people will feel shame that they have once trusted and elected me to the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
"Ant etkenmen, sez bergenmen millet ichun olmege ..."
I swore this oath, like other members of the Mejlis, standing on my knees, and I kissed the national flag at Khan's palace, the symbol of our people, the center of the centuries-old statehood of the Crimean Tatars.
The reason for several deportations (and in fact, genocides) was the desire of the Russian Empire, and subsequently - the Soviet Union, to clear Crimea of the Crimean Tatars and forever destroy history and the memory of our people.
Each Crimean Tatar pronounces these words, swears an oath and feels responsibility to the future generation for the fate of his nation, for the fate of his Motherland. The people themselves elect their leaders.
Nothing could break the will of the people, nothing could destroy its identity, love for the homeland, for the land, which passed down from generation to generation.
For the Crimean Tatars, just like for many other peoples, the concepts of "civic duty", "patriotism", "national dignity" are special values.
February 26, 2014 Crimean Tatars and other citizens of Ukraine once again came out with a protest against threats to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and with demands to call to account adventurers and political rascals.
In the future, during the occupation of Crimea, Crimean Tatars together with other citizens of Ukraine, despite numerous provocations by these forces, abductions, murders, searches, arrests, prohibition on holding commemorative mourning dates, huge fines for the slightest manifestation of activity, despite the use of wide repressive methods, have continued and continue to fulfill their civic duty.
These circumstances irritate those people, lead to anger and force to put behind the bars innocent people.
"February 26 case" lasts for more than 2 years. The process, whose aim, of course, is to intimidate the Crimean Tatars, to strangle and minimize their activity to protect their rights, support of Ukraine and the world community, which do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea.
It is obvious to everyone that there is no criminal case against Ahtem Chiygoz.
Incidents that occurred on February 26, 2014 at a peaceful rally, announced by the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people, were provoked by persons who subsequently contributed to the military occupation of the Crimea. That is, they are judged not by those who betrayed, who had goals and intentions aimed at changing the territorial integrity of Ukraine, who subsequently abducted and killed people, illegally vested themselves with the power to rule, to judge. Judge those who defended the laws of the country, international norms and rules.
The court is satisfied with the invader country, which has no right to it.
In such a situation, knowing all the true intentions of the customers of this process, there is no objectivity and independence of the court.
I am destined to accept this sentence as a verdict for the whole Crimean Tatar people on behalf of the Russian Federation that occupied my Motherland.
