President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and further cooperation. The presidential press service reported that.
European Department Director of the IMF Julia Kozak, leader of IMF mission in Ukraine Ron van Roden, Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk and Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova were presented on the meeting.
Zelensky noted that the collaboration with the International Monetary Fund is 'a significant element for building confidence for Ukraine from foreign investors and international partners'.
During the meeting the sides discussed further reforming of the energy sector and Zelensky added that the Verkhovna Rada accepted a number of laws directed on the reforming of the financial sector.
"I can assure in full support of structural reforms in economics, Independence of the National Bank and comprehensive investigation of abuse in the bank sector" the President emphasized.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine stated Ukraine was going to hold negotiations relating to the new four-year-old collaboration program with the International Monetary Fund.
