The World Bank has expressed readiness to allocate $230 million to Ukraine by December of this year as part of the project “Ukraine Emergency Covid-19 Response and Vaccination Project". This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

It is reported that on September 8, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko met with Arup Banerji, World Bank Regional Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.

In particular, the parties discussed the allocation of additional funding to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Arup Banerji indicated that the bank is ready to allocate $230 million to Ukraine by December 2021 as part of the global COVAX initiative,” the statement reads.

The World Bank is also ready to support Ukraine on every stage of pension reform.

As it was reported earlier, United States intend to provide cold chain support to Ukraine for Covid-19 vaccines storage.
