World Bank supports Ukraine's plans to open land market

The financial institution believes that the planned reform will put an end to hit-and-run attacks on farmers and stop corruption on the agricultural market

The World Bank supports fully the opening of market land planned by the Ukrainian government. The press service of the Bank stated that

"It is high time for land reform. We need the reform to let our Ukrainian farmers sell and buy the agricultural land, have access to loans, have a possibility to invest diversify their income sources and the landlords could get adequate returns for their valuable assets. This will be useful for the farmers who own any kind of business - big, medium-sized and small as well as for landowners. The reform increases the standard of living of the Ukrainian people and harnesses the full agricultural potential of the country," reads the message.

The financial institution believes that the planned reform will put an end to hit-and-run attacks on farmers and stop corruption in the agricultural market. 

Earlier, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy, Head of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov and Director of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Eastern Europe and Caucasus Matteo Patrone signed the agreement on the beginning of cooperation on the campaign of primary public equity offering as Kravtsov.
