World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim is arriving in Kyiv on Sunday, November 12, for a 2-day visit in order to discuss the agenda of Ukrainian reforms and reaffirm World Bank’s support to help Ukraine accelerate growth and improve people’s lives, according to the bank’s press service.
It is noted that Kim will meet with President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, members of the Government of Ukraine, along with civil society, private sector leaders, and representatives of the Parliament.
They will discuss how to reinforce Ukraine’s reforms in agriculture, health, pensions, energy and the banking sector, as well as the efforts to tackle corruption.
Together with the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Jim Yong Kim will participate in a special event Ukraine Tomorrow- Innovation and Opportunity. This event will showcase innovation and opportunities that modern Ukraine has to offer and how best to prepare people for the jobs of the future, bringing together young people, entrepreneurs, and opinion leaders.
Recently the World Bank endorsed its Country Partnership Framework for Ukraine for 2017-2021.
