The World Bank expects the adoption of the land reform in Ukraine this autumn. The Country Director of the World Bank for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen claimed this at the Ukrainian Financial Forum as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
‘The permit for purchasing and sale of the land is the thing that should be implemented a long time ago. And it was my pleasure to hear that the reforms in the agriculture sphere remain on the table during the speeches of the Prime Minister and the President. The proper steps will be made concerning this in the autumn. According to our estimations, it can track a development of the country’, Kahkonen said.
The World Bank criticized the project of the pension reform submitted for the second hearing.
The Finance Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Danylyuk expressed the doubt in the readiness of the IMF to remove the condition of the land reform for allocation of the next tranche.
Later Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claimed that he intends to discuss with the IMF the removal of the land reform from the current cooperation program with Fund.
Ukraine expects the fifth tranche of the loan under the EFF program from the IMF in the sum of 1.9 billion dollars this autumn.
