The volume of private money transfers to Ukraine from abroad in the period from January to August 2020 amounted to 7.168 billion dollars. That is 493 million dollars less than for the same period in 2019 (7.661 billion dollars). This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The NBU took into account both official and unofficial channels of money inflow to Ukraine. Thus, since the beginning of the year, 2.27 billion dollars have been transferred to Ukraine through informal channels. and through international payment systems - 1.45 billion dollars.
As we reported earlier, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) claims that the rate of economic decline in Ukraine makes approximately 4.5 percent, and it is not a critical one.
"So far, by our estimates, the recession of the economy in Ukraine is about 4.5 percent; by the end of the year, it could grow to 5.5 percent. But our estimates are optimistic. We believe that next year, the economy in this country will recover, as there are all factors for development for that," the statement said.
