The Bitcoin-card issuing bank WaveCrest received an order from the Visa processing company to immediately close all debit cards issued by it. This is reported by Ukrinform.
It is noted that several providers of debit cards with Bitcoin support suddenly refused to work with customers. Among them are: Bitwala, Cryptopay, Wirex and TenX. These providers allowed the use of bitcoins in regular retail outlets.
"Visa Europe stated that the reason (denial of service) was the failure of WaveCrest Visa membership rules, but this is not a fight with the crypto currency," said in a statement.
However, in WaveCrest they think otherwise.
"The changes occurred very suddenly, which did not give us time to notify our customers. This decision indicates that Visa, as well as trustees of other traditional financial corporations, do not want to serve the growing crypto economy, which, in turn, encourages us to continue our vision of creating the first crypto bank," said in WaveCrest.
We recall, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission of the United States earlier allowed to start trading bitcoin futures.
