The primary market for used vehicles in Ukraine increased 3.3 times in 2017 compared to the 2016 figures. All in all, 56,744 units were sold.
The highest demand on the market was toward European-made used vehicles. Renault was the most popular brand, which led the rating seven months of 2017. A total of 10,451 used Renault vehicles were sold in 2017, most of which (7,816 cars) were Renault Megane.
Used passenger vehicles made by Volkswagen were second most popular with a total of 10,068 cars sold in 2017, 4,688 of which were Passat.
However, the domestic re-sale of used vehicles is currently in stagnation, and even declining in many segments. Hence, the entire growth of the market relied almost predominantly on recently imported used passenger cars.
Similar trends were exhibited in the light commercial vehicles segment, where the imports of used vehicles rose by 30%, to a total of 26,241 units.
The total quantity of used vehicles imported in 2017 amounts to 85,267 units, compared to 39,000 cars imported in 2016.
