As we reported, the sum of the second IMF loan for Ukraine, which is part of the stand-by program could exceed 700 million U.S. dollars. Kyrylo Shevchenko, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine said so at a briefing.
According to him, the IMF mission's arrival in Kyiv is expected in September.
In June 2020, the IMF approved the stand-by program for Ukraine. The overall amount of funds made approximately five billion dollars. The first tranche followed immediately after that, and Ukraine received 2.1 billion dollars. Four rounds of revision of fulfillment of conditions were allocated, and four more tranches were supposed to follow. However, the schedule was broken, and the funding was suspended because Ukraine failed to live up to certain commitments.
