The United States announced its readiness to provide China with financial assistance in the amount of $ 100 million to combat the rapidly spreading deadly coronavirus. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo voiced a proposal for help on Friday, AFP reports.
“This commitment — along with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the US private sector — demonstrates sustained US leadership in response to the outbreak. We urge the rest of the world to live up to their commitments. Working together we can have a major impact on containing this growing threat,” said Pompeo.
According to the Secretary of State, the United States will provide assistance to China either directly or through various organizations.
Pompeo recalled that his country had already donated almost 17.8 tons of medicines to China, including masks, special clithes, gauze and respirators.
