US Congress proposes to give Ukraine $150 mln for defense

United States House Committee on Appropriations prepared a draft that provides for the transfer of 150 million dollars to Ukraine for defense purposes. This is stated in the text of the document.

It is planned to transfer funds before September 30, 2017, according to the document. The money will be allocated for Ukrainian military training, purchasing uniforms and defensive weapons.

In addition, lawmakers are ready to send the money for various kinds of support, including the army and the National Security Forces of Ukraine.

The amount of military aid allocated to Ukraine should be reduced by half, according to the document. In 2016, US defense budget allocated for military assistance to Ukraine $ 300 million.

The proposed bill is to be considered by the US House of Representatives. In the future, it must be approved by the US president.

Earlier it was reported that Trump will increase defense expenses, cutting from medicine, ecology. US President might include such propositions in budget of the next fiscal year.
