According to the acting head of PAO Ukrzaliznytsya Yevhen Kravtsov’ post published on his Facebook page, 400 units were purchased – 200 were bought from the Kryukovsky and Popasnyansky plants, others were manufactured on the company’s own rail car manufacturing plants, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We have accelerated the pace of renewal of freight cars thanks to the active cooperation between all branches. The production chain is operating smoothly – from shipment of parts and production management to the concrete final outcome”, - he wrote.
Among Ukrzaliznytsya’s own production facilities, the Panyutynsky plant manufactured 272 open railroad freight cars, while the Darnytsky plant made 150 and 85 were manufactured by the Stryisky plant.
“I would like to remind that over 2017, a total of 2604 cars were manufactured at Ukrzaliznytsya’s own production facilities”, - Y. Kravtsov wrote.
Kravtsov also provided some infographics, which suggest that over 7,000 of freight cars are expected to be added to the company’s fleet by the end of the year: 3600 are supposed to be manufactured at the company’s own facilities, 3450 of open railroad freight cars are expected to be purchased. Also, 100 container flatcars are supposed to be renewed.
