Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has additionally allocated almost 340 million UAH (12,7 million dollars) to repay debts to miners of state-owned mines. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal has announced this at the meeting of the government.
"This means that for the first time in a long time the state has no debts to the miners of state-owned mines in the current mode,” the head of government said,
He also added that "debts have been repaid to almost 40,000 workers who work extremely hard every day."
As we reported earlier, yesterday, on June 30, workers of coal mines in western and eastern Ukraine arrived in downtown Kyiv in order to participate in a rally.
"A delegation of miners of coal-mining enterprises in eastern and western Ukraine entered the building of the Office of President. Miners stay on the square in front of the building, demanding the government's response to the most burning questions," Mykhailo Volynets, the head of the independent trade union of miners of Ukraine, wrote on Facebook.
