Earlier the same day the deputies made a deal that the Verkhovna Rada considers cancelling wage increase for the MPs on November 1. Thus the fixed official salary of the Speaker was supposed to go up to 30 minimum wages, which makes 1.7 thousand dollars, and the salary of an average MP – 25 minimum wages, making 1.4 thousand dollars.

Many MPs state that they were not aware of the item in the resolution adopted, thus they spoke against wage increase and demanded to cancel the decision.
