The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved and submitted a draft State Budget for 2021 to the Verkhovna Rada. The relevant decision was made today at a government meeting, the press service of the Ministry of Finance said.
According to the Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, the draft state budget is realistic and balanced as well as based on the macroeconomic forecast adopted by the government in July this year.
"This is a budget of opportunities for economic development and support for our citizens and businesses in the context of 'restarting' the economy after the impact of the coronavirus pandemic," the official stated.
As we reported earlier, IMF spokesman Jerry Rice refused to name the date of the mission's next visit to Ukraine in order to provide the second tranche under the 18-month Stand-By lending program.
"I cannot indicate the date of the mission's arrival after its first review. Negotiations between Ukraine and the IMF are underway," Rice stated during a briefing.
