Ukrainian airlines performed 42.3 thousand commercial flights, which is 25% yoy in 2016, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to statistics of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, the number of passengers transported has increased by 40% from the same period last year, reaching 4 million 565 thousand people. The volume of transportation of goods and mail dropped by 9% and reached 35.5. thousand tons.
Passenger traffic flow via Ukrainian airports increased by 34.1% over the first six months, making 7.145 million people.
30 Ukrainian airlines operated in the passenger air travel and air-freight operations for the first half of the year.
Five leading Ukrainian airlines performed 95% of passenger traffic – Ukraine International Airlines, Azur Air Ukraine, Windrose Airlines, Bravo Airways, Atlasjet Ukraine.
Ukraine International Airlines ensured 24.1% growth of passenger transportation from the same period last year, Azur Air Ukraine passenger volume grew by 47%, Windrose – 4.3% times as much, Atlasjet – two times as much, Bravo – 4.5 times as much.
“Upward trend of January – June 2017 first of all comes from the development of the sector of the international airspace transportation,” State Aviation Service of Ukraine notes.
10 Ukrainian airlines performed flights to 42 world countries, 25 international airlines – to 24 countries over the specified period.
Ukrainian airlines carries 2 million 622 thousand passengers, international ones – 2 million 111 thousand passengers, which makes the growth by 27.6% and 22.5% correspondently.
Five national airlines also performed regular domestic flights between nine Ukrainian cities for 523.3 thousand people, 22.6% more than from the same period in 2016.
2o Ukrainian airports and airfields operated commercial flights. The number of serviced airplanes makes 72.2 thousand, which is by 24.7% bigger than in the first half of 2016.
98% of passenger and cargo flow is concentrated in seven leading Ukrainian airports – Boryspil, Kyiv (Zhylyany), Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv , Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia.
The Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) serviced 110.3 thousand flights comparing to the 92.4 thousand in the first half of 2016. The number of the flights by Ukrainian airplanes and helicopters grew by 27.2%, the number of the fights by international airlines grew by 14.8%.
