The state employment of Ukraine has renewed its membership in the World Congress of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES), Interfax-Ukraine reports.
As the State Employment Service of Ukraine’s communications and media department reported on Thursday, for the first time in three years Ukraine participated in the World Congress of the World Association of Public Employment Services, which was held in Morocco. The Ukrainian delegation is led by the acting head of the institution Valeriy Yaroshenko.
On 18 April, the delegation from Ukraine took part in the voting for the new managing board, which is going to be presided by Morocco, France, Mauritius, Korea, Mali and the United States. Ukraine has been a member of the World Association of Public Employment Services since 2003. However, due to the economic situation and military action in the east of the country, its membership in the organization was suspended in 2015. The organization unites almost 85 state employment services from around the world.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would not denounce the agreements on diploma recognition, employment and transition within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Also, Poland has announced an intention to simplify employment regulations for Ukrainian citizens. It will be easier for the Polish firms to hire the foreigners due to the eastern border of the country. Also, the Polish government wants to carefully study in which regions which workers of which competences and professions are needed.
