Ukraine’s Security Council gives 24 hours to decide on sanctions for Russian banks

National Security and Defense Council orders NBU and SBU to analyze activity of financial institutions

National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine gave 24 hours to National Bank (NBU) and Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to submit proposals concerning sanctions against banks with Russian capital. This was reported by the press service of the Security Council.

“Apart from that, NBU and SBU were instructed to analyze the activity of financial institutions that have Russian state banks capital and to submit propositions within 24 hours, including propositions on sanctions against those banks,” Security Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said.

Earlier it was reported that Russian capital banks were being attacked in all Ukraine.

After these incidents, Russia’s Sberbank subsidiary in Ukraine limited cash withdrawals of over thousand dollars for one person per 24 hours in cash departments.
