Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated that the Government has to oblige Naftogaz-Ukraine to reduce gas prices in June-July, 2019, as he said at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
Groysman noted that Naftogaz has to set gas price at the level no more than $320 per a thousand cubic meters. In July, the price has to be $275. It should be corrected in compliance with price decrease or increase in the European market.
“We have developed another regulatory document which gives Naftogaz-Ukraine a possibility to abuse its monopoly state. I stress that we have to bring them back to life by the decisions, which on the one hand fulfil their obligations and on the other – do not allow them to mock Ukrainians. We will made a decision today which will bring them back down to Earth,” Groysman said.
At the same time, Groysman stated that the Government has to appeal to Accounts Chamber, Antimonopoly Committee, State Fiscal Service and Government Audit Service to check the gas pricing. If Naftogaz-Ukraine does not open documents which contain information about gas purchase price, transportation, calculation and selling, Groysman will think that they are hiding manipulations and falsification of pricing.
As it was reported earlier, Naftogaz-Ukraine claimed a possibility to reduce gas price for population by 4% in comparison with the price in April.
