The national debt of Ukraine decreased by $ 0.94 billion (1.1%) to $ 83.43 in the first month of 2020. This is evidenced by data, which was published on the website of Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance.

Thus, public and publicly guaranteed debt amounted to 83.43 billion dollars against 84.36 billion dollars a month earlier. The total amount of direct government debt amounted to 73.54 billion dollars against 74.36 billion dollars in the previous month.

At the same time, direct external debt for the month increased from 39.34 billion dollars to 40.58 billion dollars. Direct domestic debt decreased from 35.02 billion dollars to 32.95 billion dollars.

As of January 31, the government guaranteed debt amounted to 9.89 billion dollars.

As we reported earlier, during 2019, the total debt of Ukraine in dollar terms increased by $ 6.04 billion (7.7%) and amounted to $ 84.36 billion as of December 31, 2019.

In 2020, Ukraine has to repay more than 16,4 billion dollars

The debt is divided into four parts, with the smallest payment coming in the fourth quarter and the biggest – in the third.
