The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has withdrawn the license of the Ukrainian subsidiary of the Russian “VTB Bank” as the NBU press service reported.

“The National Bank of Ukraine at the request of the Deposit Guarantee Fund made a decision dated December 18, 2018 #849-rsh on the withdrawal of the bank license and liquidation of “VTB Bank”,” the message said.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, the process of liquidation of “VTB Bank” will begin today, on December 19.

“The Deposit Guarantee Fund on the basis of the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on the withdrawal of the license made a proper decision yesterday and today we enters “VTB Bank” as the liquidator,” the press service of the fund said.

As we reported the Deposit Guarantee Fund plans to finish the liquidation of more than 40 banks, which were referred to its office during the crisis 2014-2016 in 2019.
