Ukraine’s National Bank introduces new 200 UAH banknote

The National Bank of Ukraine presented a new 200 UAH banknote. The new notes will be introduced on February 25, according to the NBU’s press service.

2007 and 2019 banknotes of the same value will be in use at the same time, and new banknotes will be exchanged for worn-out ones, thus, new 200 hryvnia banknotes will be presented more and more.

"By design, it imitates new modern banknotes of 20, 100, 500 and 1000 hryvnias. The 200 UAH banknote of the new sample represents the main imagery of 2007 banknote of the same nominal," the message reads.

The size and colors of the new 200 UAH bill will remain the same. A portrait of Lesya Ukrainka will invariably be depicted on the front and the entrance tower of Lutsk Castle on the reverse. The portrait of the poetess will now be depicted not on the right side, but in the center of the bill.

It is noted that the bill will have embossed elements, the roughness of which will be felt to the touch, as well as the element in the form of two stripes for people with visual impairments.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine has to repay 16,4 billion dollars of debt during 2020. The external debt amounts to 6,9 billion dollars and internal – to 9,5 billion dollars. This data was published by the Ministry of Finance.

The debt is divided into four parts, with the smallest payment coming in the fourth quarter and the biggest – in the third.
