He reminded that all the disputes are settled by the Stockholm Arbitration. According to him, the only problem is that Gazprom does not comply with the arbitration’s decision. It does not deliver gas to Ukraine at the prices set by the arbitration, and does not pay Ukraine 2.6 billion dollars of compensation.
"We are ready to settle a new dispute regarding the revision of the transit tariff, with which we recently applied to the Stockholm arbitration. I will remind that we demand about 12 billion dollars from Gazprom, and we are sure that we have a strong legal position," he said.
Vitrenko noted that the dispute between Naftogaz and Gazprom in the Stockholm arbitration would not be resolved before 2020.
As it was reported earlier, on July 6 Naftogaz-Ukraine filed a lawsuit to the Arbitration Court of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce with a demand to review the transit tariff under the contract with Russian Gazprom.
On June 8, Russian state-run gas company Gazprom addressed the Swiss court, complaining about the seizing of its assets in the Netherlands. The company plans to submit another appeal to the Dutch court.
The Russian side also insists it still has not got any official notifications about the beginning of the asset freeze due to the execution of the Stockholm arbitrary court's decision.
