Ukraine's international reserves grows significantly

Ukraine's international reserves amounted to $30.5485 billion and grew by 3% in November as the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

"As of December 1, Ukraine's international reserves, according to preliminary data, amounted to $30,548.5 million. In November, they grew by 3%, primarily due to the receipt of the second tranche from the International Monetary Fund under the stand-by program in the amount of 500 million Special Drawing Rights (SDR),” it was reported.

Other factors in the growth of reserves include:

  • public debt management operations
  • operations of the National Bank in the interbank foreign exchange market
  • revaluation of financial instruments (as a result of changes in market value and exchange rates). Last month, their value decreased by $135.6 million

Earlier it was reported that as of September 1, Ukraine's international reserves, according to preliminary data, amounted to $31.6 billion (in equivalent). This amount of reserves is a record over the past nine years. Also, the dynamics of reserves during August was determined by three main factors: operations on the interbank market, operations on government debt management and revaluation of financial instruments.
