The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine renewed the plan on the separation of gas transporting activity from Naftogaz Ukraine as Ukrainian News reported citing Energy Minister Oleksy Orzhel.

“Today we renewed the plan of unbundling, defined clear terms, clear responsibility of each of the side (responsible for the fulfillment of the process),” the minister said.

Orzhel noted that the adopted decision meets the European demands and it is supported by Naftogaz-Ukraine, which leadership had conflicts with the government of Volodymyr Groysman in choosing of unbundling model.

Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers passed the control over the public joint-stock company Main gas pipelines of Ukraine to Finance Ministry from the Energy Ministry.

“Another important decision adopted today is that the specially created company Main gas pipelines of Ukraine was passed to Finance Ministry from the Energy Ministry.

Orzhel added that this decision was made to prevent the influence of Energy Ministry on Operator of gas transporting system.

He underlined that it was one of the demands of the European partners to hold the unbundling in accordance with the European demands.

The new model of unbundling provides the pass of the gas transporting system to Operator of gas transporting system by Fund of State Property.

As we reported Naftogaz-Ukraine has involved EU energy experts to prepare the unbundling procedure in this country; it means that the specialists are supposed to advise the Ukrainian officials in terms of the development of the independent gas transport system operator.
