The National Bank of Ukraine has refreshed the official rate of hryvnia exchange rate for March 18. The new rate makes UAH 27.05 per USD 1. One Euro costs 29.72 Ukrainian hryvnias.
Earlier, Alfa Bank decided to temporarily close their offices in Ukraine because of the spread of coronavirus. This is mentioned in the message posted on the bank's website.
"Today, we had to make decisions that would affect the working mode of the bank and our clients. We count on your support and understanding of the situation, and on our behalf, we're going to do everything so that the regular bank services work without any hindrance", the message says.
It is also known that the cash sale is postponed, one can exchange currency online.
Previously, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that there has been not enough cash in the banks' cashier desks, as the demand of the population grew drastically. As the air traffic and state borders are closed, the cash is brought to Ukraine with a delay. “Considering the quarantine measures imposed by the world countries and Ukraine, the National Bank along with other banks solve this issue,” the financial authority reported.
