Ukraine’s Court of Appeal transfers $55 million to State budget

The Court of Appeal of the Cherkasy region transferred almost $55 million to the state budget within the framework of the special confiscation process. The Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko reported this on Facebook.

“Today the Court of Appeal of the Cherkasy region ruled to transfer to the state budget $54 267,000 within the framework of the special confiscation process”, - Lutsenko wrote.

According to the Prosecutor General, they will spend this money on new missiles, anti-tank guided missile launchers, armored vehicles, fire control systems; and border guards will be able to complete the complex arrangement of the state border.

It was reported, that with the reference to the sources in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's office (SAP), that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and SAP had passed about 50 cases against Yanukovych.

In particular, materials on seizing the Mezhyhirya Residence (Novi Petrivtsi, Kyiv region) were passed along with the files on seizing hunting grounds in Sukholuchhya, Kyiv region. 

The court seized all the immovable property, which is located on the territory of Mezhyhirya, the former residence of Ukrainian ex-president Viktor Yanukovych.
