“China International Import Expo is going to be among the most important events in our cooperation with China’s business community in 2018. I am confident it will be an event of global significance,” the president of Ukraine’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennadiy Chizhikov announced during the CIIE presentation in Kyiv.
The presentation attracted some 500 high-ranking guests such as the official delegation from China’s Ministry of Commerce, Shanghai municipal lawmakers, Ukrainian entrepreneurs and government officials.
Olga Trofimtseva, deputy minister of agriculture of Ukraine, said the event will offer a tremendous opportunity for agricultural producers of Ukraine to enter the Chinese market. “I believe there is great potential for boosting bilateral trade in agrarian products, as well as for the expansion of the range of goods we trade with each other,” Trofimtseva said.
At the same time, China’s Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei expressed his belief that attendance of the CIIE will benefit the development of Ukraine’s economy. “The Ukrainian economy requires capital investments and sales markets, hence, I encourage Ukrainian agricultural producers to participate in this upcoming exhibition in Shanghai,” Du Wei said.
The CIIE is a major exhibition organized by the Chinese government to promote a new round of high-level exposure. The event will take place in Shanghai from 5 November to 10 November 2018. It will feature numerous exhibitions and forums, provide a platform for trade and services and offer networking opportunities to facilitate international cooperation. Leaders of governments, entrepreneurs and scholars from over 100 countries and regions are expected to attend the event.
