Special duties of 65% on coal imports from the Russian Federation, with a few exceptions, will be introduced in Ukraine on April 15. The relevant decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of March 18 has been published, Interfax reports.
The exceptions, in particular, are: grade A (anthracite) coal, bituminous coal and coking coal for the metallurgical industry, and grade "P" (lean) coal for electricity and heat producers.
According to the text of the decree, the document does not provide the introduction of a special duty on electricity imports that was previously announced at the meeting of Cabinet of Ministers.
As we reported earlier, experts of the consulting group "A-95" believe that the fuel consumption in Ukraine will fall by 20-30% due to the introduction of quarantine measures.
Thus, the diesel fuel balance in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to 1.387 million tons, which is 1.5% less than in the same period of 2019 (1.408 million tons). It is emphasized that this is the first time that the quarterly market balance has decreased since 2015.
