Ukraine takes 43rd place at Paying Taxes 2018

Ukraine rose at 43rd place in the Paying Taxes 2018 rating composed by the World Bank and PwC consulting company.

According to the rating, Ukraine succeeded to decrease the tax burden up to 37.8% that is lesser than in the EU where it is 40.5% and averagely in the world it is 39.6%. The relieving taxation on the business became the consequence of the decrease of the rate of the unified social tax up to 22%.

The positive dynamics towards the quantity of the tax payments per year takes place in Ukraine as Paying Taxes 2018 stated. There are 5 of them in Ukraine, while EU has 12 and averagely in the world it is 24. At the same time, it takes 327.5 hours per year to prepare them while the index for the EU is 161 hours and for the world is 240 hours.

The Ukrainian index on the after-submitting of the tax reached 85.95 while EU has 81.6 and averagely in the world it is 59.61.

Ukraine has the simple procedures on the amendments to the tax return and VAT charge not on the export operation in the comparison with countries as ‘PwC Ukraine’ reported.

Ukraine improved its position in the rating of 41 points in comparison with 2016 and took the 43rd place among 190.

The research Paying Taxes 2018 is one of the part of Doing Business 2018 and it is the joint project of the World Bank and PwC consulting company. It estimates the quantitative and qualitative aspect of the tax payment in 190 countries. It is released during the last 12 years.
