In 2017, Ukraine spent $117.25 million borrowed from the World Bank, which is $47.63 million or 1.7 times up against 2016, UNIAN reports.
Nowadays, the Ministry of Finance is implementing seven projects accounting for $2.303 billion with the World Bank in the transportation, power grid, meedical, social assistance, water supply and energy efficiency areas, according to the institution’s official website.
The World Bank is an international financial institution providing financial and technical assistance to emerging economies. Since 2014, the World Bank has allocated over $5.5 billion for projects in Ukraine and has provided more than $500 million in guarantees for gas purchases.
