Ukraine signs updated memorandum with IMF

Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) signed a memorandum of cooperation. This was reported by Reuters, citing a source in the National Bank of Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian side signed an updated memorandum of cooperation," said the source.

At the same time, the NBU source of the Ukrainian News agency said that this memorandum is only expected to be signed. According to the source, the Ukrainian side is still working on the document. The Ministry of Finance has not confirmed the signing of the memorandum too.

"We are now in the final stages of negotiation with the IMF", said in the department.

It should be noted that the signing of the memorandum opens the way for allocation of Ukraine the next tranche under the program of financial assistance.

Payments have been detained several times in the past two years due to a lack of progress in reforms in Ukraine.
