Ukraine’s automobile manufacturers in January 2018 produced a total of 570 vehicles, which indicates a 44.7% increase compared to January 2017. Furthermore, a 59.7% increase was exhibited in the passenger car segment, the Ukrautoprom association has informed, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to preliminary data published by the association, all passenger cars were made by the private joint-stock company Eurocar.
At the same time, production of commercial automobiles dropped by 45.8%, to 32 (without taking into account the data from PrJSC AvtoKrAZ), whereas bus production increased by 68.6% and reached 59 units.
Eurocar, which manufactures Skoda vehicles, was the leading producer of passenger cars in January. While the Zaporizhzhya Automobile Plant (ZAZ) made almost no passenger vehicles in January, it managed to produce 30 commercial automobiles (compared to 59 one year ago) and seven buses (against two last year).
The Chernihiv Automobile Plant, which belongs to Etalon Corporation, led the way in bus production, having made 20 units. The plant did not produce any buses in January 2017.
The Chasiv Yar Bus Plant in Donetsk region manufactured 17 buses (against 14 in January 2017). Also, the Cherkasy Bus Plant made 12 buses.
