Ukraine and Russia will proceed from technical advice to the negotiation of a treaty on the transportation and supply of natural gas as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing Energy Minister Oleksiy Orzhel.
“The sides are at the stage of technical advice. Soon, the issue will proceed to the really significant elements of the negotiations of a treaty on the transporting and terms of the supply or compensation of the positions and money decision on arbitration cases,” he said.
“The active work on the negotiation of two treaties takes place to make particular decisions on the volumes and terms of the compensation,” the minister added.
According to him, the process takes place quite actively and even the negotiations are not easy but there are “particular constructive proposals”.
As we reported Naftogaz expressed the readiness to restore direct gas supplies from Russia on account of debt repayment of Gazprom to Ukraine, which is foreseen by the decision of Stockholm arbitrary court.
Earlier Naftogaz won the appeal against Gasprom in Stockholm Arbitration. Gazprom has appealed against Arbitration Court's Decision on Fuel Supply Contracts to Ukraine.
